Weekend in Review, Vol. 84

The long weekend flew by, but for once I am feeling well-rested and ready to face the week. The extra day off really makes all the difference in the world, and I was lucky not to have to do (too much) work over the weekend. While Mr. Cool and I spent quite a bit of time lounging around during the day, we managed to dine at three different restaurants and meet up with two different groups of friends between Friday and Monday.

Saturday found us taking an impromptu walk down Divisadero Street, where we stopped off at a few shops and a bar on our way to purchase some guitar strings for Mr. Cool. On Saturday night, we met up with a friend and dined on vegan (for us) and sustainable (for her) sushi at Tataki. On Sunday night, Mr. Cool and I opted for Thai food at Thai Spice before meeting up with friends for drinks at Kozy Kar and Bigfoot Lodge on Polk Street. We closed out the evening with some karaoke at Encore before finally calling it a night at 1:30.

Monday found me relaxing with a book, browsing the internet and making a (long overdue) trip to the gym. I am going on a "semi-fast" this week where I am going to replace my morning and afternoon meals with green smoothies. I'm hoping to kickstart my metabolism and lose the last stubborn 10 pounds that refuse to melt away. Wish me luck!

Healthy mid-day snack - pan-popped popcorn with nutritional yeast and cayenne pepper

The first (of several) rounds of cocktails on Sunday night

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

  1. I want to pop popcorn with cayenne pepper! I'm glad your weekend wasn't filled with work and any weekend with Thai food is a good one!

  2. Sounds like a fun-filled and delicious weekend! I am still trying to lose my last stubborn 10 pounds, too. Your green smoothie kickstart sounds like a great plan.
